I bought a 1995 Fourwinns 220 Horizon late last fall. Only got out a couple times. We love everything about the boat but the kids are disappointed about the ropes catching in the wake when we tube. I have seen a Sportsstuff Boosterball but didn't like the price. Has anyone found anything to help this. The rope and tube get hung up in the wake and it really interferes with my ability to crash the kids  . I was brainstorming and thought about attaching the foam pool noodles on the ropes at the correct length so the rope and noodles ride the top of the wake. Anyone tried this before?

Just thought I'd throw this out there, I have about 4 months before we'll even think about getting out on the boat. Thanks, Shawn

Look around other posts. We've addressed this recently. My issue was as a result of too heavy rope used for the application. I'm using the toughest, heaviest rope I could find. The cheap Walmart ones didn'tdo that due to rope cross section. I plan on going back to the cheapo's once the heavies wear out.... if they ever do.

Hmmmmm ... I know what you're talking about, but we never really have a problem with it. Maybe Walt's suggestion that the heavier tow lines may be more prone to it, is valid. With what we use, the ropes just ride up over the wake, pretty much.

Still, it's up to the boat driver to get the tube out of the wake.........

Had the same problem years ago. What I did was increase the speed and the sharpness of the turns to throw the rider from the tube...Oh wait you wanted to know about keeping the rope out of the water....sorry no help there.

Best one was doing figure eights and creating the giant rollers. I then came in with the tuber on the opposite side of the boat and swung him acrosss the wake and into the rollers. He skipped across the water before crashing and thenhis eyelids were inside out. He never doubted I could throw him after that. :D

I love when they say that to me. My 260 can dig a pretty big trench that can put a tube WAY up in the air. (safely of course)

Since we're on the subject of tubing, I thought I'd share this photo:

I would at the very least de-claw the cat, unless it's the kids causing the holes.

I think it's cruel to de-claw a cat. (but dragging him on a tube is A-OK!)

I like to speed up cut it hard and let the tube stop dead center and circle the rope under and pull from the opposite side. Nothing like a good face smack to get them to kill the I can stay on all day line.

My wife suckered me with this one once and flipped me over the back of the Super Mable, now I see it coming and can hang on. It's fun to see others get tossed this way while on the tube though.

We have to Doable ball and it's worth the $100. I've used it to tow pretty much anything and it greatly reduces the amount of spray that you take to the face and gives a better ride when going slower for the kids.
