if you have young ones, the SkiSkimmer is perfect for 3-6 yr olds. it is very simple for the child to hold on to the rope and the board is directly tied to the boat. the board planes on water immediately and you can help push the child out the water on deep water starts, but after awhile they can do it by themselves. **Highly Recommended**

I will be getting one of those. Thanks for the link. I have a 4 year old daughter and 7 year old son. My daugther is braver and will try it for sure. My son will need some coaxing to get on it. I thought about getting those smaller skis that attach but I don't want my kids to get frustrated and not want to do it. That Skiskimmer looks easy and fun. |

Very cool. Might try that for our four year old..... have to get him more comfortable with the water first though.......... Our teenage daughter's friends had trouble getting on the regular skis... maybe this would be an option for them!

I bought a similar gizmo called a "Power Board" at Kmart a while back. I think my boys were 4 and 7 at the time and i had a little 15' fish-n ski. Now we're up to an 04 18' horizon, kids are 14 and 11 and they're slalom skiing better than i ever dreamed. I would also highly recommend this gadget. The kids are up easy which builds confidence, allows them have fun, slowly progress to skis. |

I learned to ski on a board like this when I was about 3yrs old. (That was 38 years ago!) I had no idea they were still around - I've got to get one for my kids. Andy |

I just bought my 6yo son a pair of these:  Trainer Skis Found them for $65 at Gander Mountain and are cheap enough that if they only last a year or two, they'll have served their purpose. They come with the two handle rope that connects to the cross bar. Will report back after he gets to use them. One thing I made him do before getting skis was to fall into the water from a moving tube so he had the experience of being alone in the water with the boat coming around to get him. |
