Took my boat to the lake after I've done a few things to try to get it running. Started just fine at the house but when i got to the ramp it wouldn't start. After cranking on it for awhile i heard a funny noise and now when i turn the key it just makes a whining sound. Its not engaging the flywheel. Did I ruin my starter?

Sounds like the solenoid bit the dust. It can be replaced without replacing the whole starter, but you have to take the starter off to get to it.
