That is a GM # but the number we were discussing is an OMC that you need to have to get the right parts etc because you can use the # to determine the actual year of the engine package. It probably was stuck to the old engine....

Maybe contact the shop that installed the engine, they might have it in their records.
In my OMC manuals the 3.0 had the model number sticker on the valve cover on the side near the shift cables....grey sticker black print....

BUT....I looked at your pix....I see something that looks like it on the front edge of the flame arrestor housing....take a pic of that and post it up....if it says "OMC Drive Systems, Waukegan Ill" that's it then....
On my 4.3 it was on the thermostat housing.
