When you disconnect the throttle cable at the carb, how does the linkage move on the carb? Does the linkage return to idle via spring tension when not connected to the throttle cable? If it does and it doesn't do it, is there a spring tension adjustment?

All the carbs I've seen have a light spring returning them to idle if the throttle cable was disconnected. This functions to take up any slack in the connections, and also for safety to return to idle if the linkage came apart. No tension adjustment...If it doesn't work, the spring must be broken.

I thought that was the case. No spring on the linkage. I'll get one and put it on to see how it works. Thanks
