Hello, I want to exchange the transom gimbal bearing grease fitting. The original part-number of Volvo Penta is 3852121. Its a OMC Cobra SX 1995. At the moment it is hard to find it in our shops (germany), so I want to replace it with an alternative auto-part, but I need the dimensions and the kind of the thread. Did someone replaced this part in the past? It would be very nice, if someone can help me. Thanks a lot... |

You just want the dimensions on the original fitting? On the newer drives the fitting is connected to an extension tube, and I think the fitting and tube come out together just by pulling on them. Maybe yours does too? |

Hello, thanks a lot for your reply. Yes , I want the dimensions of the original fitting. And yes, there is a tube. The OMC SX transom is similar to the Volvo SX. I our shops I can only get metric fittings, but I'm convinced I need one in inch size. So I have to order it in the correct size online. This is the reason why I want to know the diemensions exactly. Furthermore I need to know the kind of the thread. In pictures on websites it looks like a UNF. |

I might be misunderstanding, but can't you just pull yours out and measure it (or are you saying someone else already replaced it)? |

At the moment I can't. The boat is winterized and far away from my hometown in a hall. My Idea was, to buy all the parts I need, before I drive to the boat. I'm conviced, that there was nothing replaced in the past. It must be the original fitting. |

I don't know which thread it has, but here is a source that shows pretty much all of the possible grease fitting types and sizes: https://www.mcmaster.com/#zerk-grease-fittings/=16hreva |
