Got home today and looked at the boat and notice the engine hatch open and the mooring cover stretched and torn. Reset the breaker hit the button and it tripped again. Shorted lift piston. Has anyone ever changed one?
Next fired engines to let warm and found the steering stuck. Looking for a rough cost if anyone has had one replaced.

I haven't changed one, but if I remember right, it's held on to the hatch by a pin and then screwed down to the cross members between the engines?

Can't help on the steering - what do you mean it's stuck? The wheel isn't turning side to side?

Can't help either, but I'd make you feel a little better....my brother went to his place last year to discover a lightening strike shorted his lift and raise his boat with with t top and power poles thru the roof of boat dock.

Is the steering cable or wire controlled....just thinking it's not coincidence that both failed at same time and some insurable incident may have happened.
