Make sure they check the u-joints as well when they are in there. The bellows on an I/O has to be thought of as a maintenance item that needs periodic replacement.

So I just pulled the drive off. What all did you guys replace while in there besides the bellows? The six nuts should be replaced? The shaft o-rings? The o-ring for the water pipe to outdrive mating surface? They weren't too helpful where I bought my parts but they did give me the right parts. Also, there's a lot of muck, grease in the gimbal housing etc. I was thinking of shielding the drive and exhaust outlets with plastic, hitting it with simple green then blasting it off with the pressure washer. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Oh, and.. how exactly did yall get an accurate torque reading when tightening down those six nuts? I can get a socket on it with a nasty angle with a flex joint adapter, but that won't give an accurate torque reading at that angle. I suppose it's by feel with a wrench?

I used a touque wrench and feel. I agree that with u-joint socket it will affect wrench performance.

If o-rings are in good shape I would run another year. But they are cheap, replace if any question.

Finished yesterday. Wasn't tough at all, the hardest part was that damn snap ring. my pliers didn't like it so I closed it in my vice and put a few zip ties on it, seated it in then cut the ties. With two of us, the drive went in without issue. No stand used here just shim up some wood under the skeg. I replaced the shaft o-rings, and six nuts. Now that's one less thing to worry about!

I did not replace the water hose, it looked to be in good shape and I keep the boat here at the house so I can inspect before/after each use. I did all o-rings, u-joints, bellows and the 6 nuts.

I found that you don't have to have a lift/stand as well, drive is not as heavy as my old king cobra!!! But I liked having stand to hold drive while off the boat.

Very true, I should make mention that I have a lift in my garage so I just slid it onto the arms once I positioned them, then I could bring it up to chest height to service the joints. It has come in very useful for a many many things other then just vehicles.
