I need a few recommendations on replacement trailer tires.

I have a stock OEM Four Winns triple axle bunk trailer for our 97 Vista 278. The tires are original from 1997 and seriously dry rot. I live ON the lake so I only trailer the boat ~2 miles back and forth twice a year but I do not want any problems to and from the ramp.

I need seven tires (ouch$$) 6 for the 3 axles, and 1 spare. What brand is good? Ive heard bad things about Carlisle tires.

Carlisle is fine. But only buy one model of their tires. Carlisle Radial Trail. They learned from their mistakes and made an outstanding tire that gives long wear without the headaches of their previous radials. They came on my new trailer, and I love them.

I know for a fact that the new Carlisle Radial Trail tires will go at least 300 miles with no issues.

But seriously, I have just installed a set of 5 205x14's on my trailer. You will hear the same bad things about Goodyear Marathons too.

(I still can't understand why there are no North American built trailer tires. You would think that there would be a market with all the trailers on our highways) :?:

I have had the Load Star bias plys on my trailer for 8 years (very little towing because its a moored boat) and they've been good. No weather cracking, etc, but I know they're getting to the point where I should replace em age wise. They have a good reputation vis a vis other tires from the Far East....
The Kumho 857 radials also have a good rep, they are one of the few companies that makes a 14" tire in a D rating.
