So pulled the boat out of the water yesterday, doing all of the wipe down, clean up, etc...started to do my final walk around to make sure it is all secure and ready for 60 MPH, and notice under the boat, that one of the support rails (I don't know what they are called--the things covered in carpet that the boat sits on), is completely sideways under the boat! the nuts and bolts had come lose, and it was about to fall off. Parked the trailer, shot down to the hardware store, launched the boat, replaced missing bolts, TIGHTENED ALL THE OTHER NUTS, replaced two other missing nuts, and found one more gone. All fixed for less than $5.00........I can say, these are nuts I never even thought once to check to see if they were tight or not.......one more thing to do before each trip to the lake now!

this is a new 2012 boat? I'd be talking to the dealer if you bought it new....

I sent them an email. Nice guys....stuff happens. I am in the car business, and every time something goes wrong from human error, customers make this big stink about it like we are suppose to be perfect or something..so it is not in my nature to make a big deal out of stuff like this. I should have checked them myself......that is my belief. Never rely on others to make sure everything is okay. I am just glad that I am the type to LOOK at everything before cruising on down the road.

I feel the same way! I don't call and yell at the dealer because something little happened...good to know that it needs to be checked though thanks.

something little is that some screws are loose, or the seams on a cushion does not line up. A loose bunk on the trailer is not little. The boat could have started moving around on the trailer, at 60 mph.
If I were you, I'd check to see if they tightened the lug nuts, axle ubolts, etc. Take a look and see if someone remembered to put brake fluid in the actuator. You pay for dealer prep, right?
Having been a driveway mechanic for 40 years, I am in the habit of checking everything. It has helped me avoid mechanical problems by and large, and you would think, that the dealer would make sure the thing that the boat rides on is on the trailer right!

I had the same issues on my '11 trailer, had to tighten all the bolts holding the bunks. I guess its part of the new boat ownership with the loose screws/bolts.

Ah, the new boat blues. Every nut, screw, bolt will get loose within a year. Once you tighten them again they should be good for years.

I check the bunk bolts on my 08' trailer at the start of every season and find some loose. Always good idea to make sure everything is good and tight on your trailer at least once a season.

Might also want to jack up the trailer and check to see if there is play in the wheel bearings, and if they feel rough or smooth...
I'm so used to doing everything by myself, and these are really very simple things to check, that it's hard to believe that the dealers don't do this for what they charge for these boats...
