What is the best boat cover for Trailering a long distance on Interstate Highways? What brand and what cover? The cover will be for a 205 Sundowner. |

I have a custom made snap on cover from a local shop (cost 1800) and trailer on the highway all the time, however my winter cover also says its trailerable but I would likely stitch in or velcro in some non abrasive type padding/material on the gunnels prior to trailering with it, you can always add a few tie downs to keep it taught while towing. |

I just bought and put on the factory cover from FourWinns. Seems to fit very snug with the ratchet system it has, and I would not hesitate to tow with it if I needed to. I probably never will, just cause it is one more thing to deal with, but it seems like it would do well. Only regret, is I wish I had bought a cover that covered much more of the side of the boat for the winter, but at $800, I will just live with this one for a few seasons! |
