All these trailer posts are making me wish I could see some more tow rig posts.since I just bought a new one, and as soon as I get some pics of it, I would like to know what is the opinions on mine. 2005 GMC Sierra Extended cab Z-71 5.3 4 speed. so far I LOVE the truck. I have yet to put the boat behind it but can't wait till I do.

You bought the wrong brand, but I'm sure it'll work OK anyway.

You just need to do the math. What is the truck rated for with that cab & rear end?? The bigger the cab the tow rating does down. The same with the rear end, the wrong one will bring down that # too.

As long as to stay below 90% of what the truck is rated for!! Your fine. What some boaters dont realize, you need to add anything in the truck too. So its passagers, boat, trailer, fuel, water & gear in the boat.

Timely topic. We just picked up our new tow vehicle Wednesday. 2008 GMC Acadia SLT2. It pulls our 20 footer like a dream. You should have no problems with your truck towing your H200.

We had been towing all summer with a Lexus SUV. It did okay, but was not as good as the Acadia for towing.

No problem towing with the Z71 at all...any drive train package and motor setup they installed in your truck will be fine for the H200 and your buds. Personally I've never been a big Chevy/GMC fan but can't really say why:-)
Guess its a matter of what my Dad and Grandad drove, so I've been brainwashed.

Too lazy to post pics this AM.

2012 BMW X5 Diesel....to be fair, that was for towing all the kids, the boat came second. Does a great job.

Cap'n, that's a nice looking setup you've got.

Nice truck! Should pull your h200 just fine. I just went from a 09 Pathfinder to an 11 Ram 5.7 hemi. The Pathfinder did fine but the extra wheelbase of a truck makes for a much more stable ride.

I use my 07 Hemi Jeep for longer tows but I still use the ole 98 Jeep with the 4.0 six for just running it down to the ramp or to get the bottom painted.

I checked all the specs and it says towing ability is 8900 lbs. I know My F-I-L towed his 26 ft Wellcraft with the same set up only a chevy, so I knew it would tow it fine. Also I am going to hide this thread from the Admiral cause she is just drooling to get the bank account on a new Acadia, especially in the pearl color.

I have the same setup in my Avalanche. It pulled my buddies Crownline 225br like a dream and pulls my boat like there is nothing there. My cousin pulls his Crownline 245ss with their 2011 Tahoe with the 5.3. Again, they have no problems.

Post some pics up of the rig. I love the looks of the GMC's over the Chevy's.

As soon as I get some, it hasn't set still long enough for a pic.
