Same engine in my 2008 Envoy Denali, pulls my H210 with no issues.

So, thought I'd chime in here... Just purchased a 2004 328 Vista. We like to leave our home lake maybe once a season to check out other places, so, we had a new trailer made for the boat during the buying process. During the shopping process, and knowing what we were looking at, I knew that I would soon need a different truck as well. I previously had a Larson Cabrio 290 and pulled it around with a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with 5.7 Hemi, and she pulled that like nothing, but I knew the 32-35 footers would be a problem for her, especially the gas engine.. So, darn it, I had to upgrade the truck too... Purchased a gently used (Chrysler corprate owned) 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Heavy Duty with the 6.7 ltr Cummins Turbo Diesel.. She pulled the new boat home from Virginia to Illinois like a dream. Totally comfortable drive! 890 miles in 17+ Hours...

TFD2001 Nice truck & boat combo. Nice to see another Illinois boater here. We are from the south Chicago suburbs but boat in Shelbyville the majority of the time. Maybe we will run into on Shelbyville sometime.

Depending on the weather we are hoping to spend 3-4+ weeks on Shelbyville early next spring! We visited our friends(Flyer51) down there in June and loved it! we'll keep an eye out for both of you next year :D

Here's my tow rig and new boat. I've always owned GMC/Chevy, but that's just my preference so be nice :D ! This is my first HD truck and it pulls this H260 like it's not back there. I pulled up a few extreme hills last weekend with NO issues and plenty of pedal left. Sorry for the dark picture, it was raining....

I use either one of my Jeeps, if just going to the ramp (1/8th mile) then I use the 98 4.0 six ZJ Grand, if going anywhere speed is required, the 07 5.7 WK Grand gets used.
Once I saw a 19' Glastron getting pulled by a Subaru Outback like our 98, it actually seemed to pull it pretty well, not sure how well it stopped though.

The Durango with the 5.7 L Hemi does exceedingly well pulling the 260 along with 2 kids, the admiral, and me with a crapload of luggage/food/drinks/etc. 13 mpg if towing at 55-60 on flat highway. Handled some tough grades down 75 in southern KY into TN pretty well.

I use my 07 Hemi Jeep for longer tows but I still use the ole 98 Jeep with the 4.0 six for just running it down to the ramp or to get the bottom painted.

Good to see the pic of the GMC Acadia as a tow rig for a Horizon. I recently purchased a 2004 Horizon 210 and will be towing it with my 2007 GMC Acadia that is rated for 4,500 lbs. I think I should be right at the upper end of that rating. I will be towing it on flat roads for only 15-20 miles (Truckee, CA to Lake Tahoe). Any thoughts on how it may handle?

I tow with my 2004 F250 King Ranch 4x4...nice truck andthe SS isn't near the tow rating for this truck.....70 and 80 MPH speed zones aren't an issue, but I don't do the 80 with trailers in tow.

I would like another Ram one ton with a six speed Manny tranny though....if I run across an older model with the 5.9 cummins.
