It being a lease you may also want to check the terms on your lease. Some leases say hitches are a big no-no. |

I will check the lease terms. The dealer verbally told me that installing a hitch at a later date is not a problem, but that was verbal. The suggestion to rely on friends is a good one, but the boat will be at a vacation home in a very rural area and sometimes weeks go by with no one around who could help me. It would be unfortunate to be at the lake and not be able to get on the water because there's no one around to launch my boat. I appreciate all the advice! |

If you're really worried about the subaru just go out and buy an old junk pickup. Like a s10 and don't even bother insuring it or registering it and leave it at your place where your're keeping the boat. I am sure you can find a decent pickup for less than $1000. Probably not to much more than the price of installing a hitch. |

Back when I had the H180 I would just rent a pickup from uHaul for the day (F150). It was like $50 bucks after all fees and gas. |

fi.na.tine wrote: Towing on a flat surface that distance I would say no problem. But when you deal with a boat and the angle of a launch, that is something. The other thing is pulling the boat and trailer out of the water, adding the weight of the water, slickness of the ramp, and the angle - probably not a good combo. If you have a home depot, lowes, or Uhaul close by - you could rent a truck for about $50 each time. I agree with the above. I would do as Lou suggested, rent a truck. |

Looks familiar, where is your lot located? We are on the south end 3rd lot after you turn to the east going around the lake. |
