I have a 1999 Vista 238 with a Four Winns Trailer.
I have problems with the coupler coming off the hitch ball. I was thinking of replacing the coupler. I has the brake actuator. Can I replace just the coupler or do I have to replace the entire thing? Is this unit one piece or does just the coupler come off?
I thought about trying to rebuild the unit, however, a previous owner damaged the coupler and it has a large dent behind the ball area.

Thanks for the help.

Do you have a photo of coupler?

Have you looked underneath the coupler. There should be a nut that you can tighten to make it fit snug.

Can't you use a lock to keep the arm in place so it can not uncouple?

It would be good if you posted a pic, because if there is a dent in the coupler, depending on where it is, that might be why it does not stay latched on. There is an adjustment for the clamp on the underside of the coupler but the ball has to fit properly into the upper part.
