I noticed in my owners manual that they say to wax your trailer once a year. Anyone else do this? I just did mine today as I assume it was never done before, but man is that a lot of work just for the trailer.

It's probably a good idea, but if the trailer is used much I wouldn't expect the wax to hold up at all. Besides, the inside of the trailer frame is rusting just as fast as it can anyway.

Mike, What wax do you recommend for the trailer?

Ah, I'm going to hell, but it felt good!

I did notice some rust spots on the trailer already. Kinda surprised as my old trailer was 18 years old with no real signs of rusting.

Little wax can't hurt - keeps things looking good.

I use to wax the outter portions of mine a couple times a year with just some Mequirers cleaner wax that I use for my car. It actually quite easy. I don't use a polisher. Instead, just take a cloth and wipe down in horizontal strokes along the main frame and fenders. Always looked much better (it was black) when I was done but I trailered so much it wasn't pristine. Looked good from a few feet away.
