Also check out, http://www.timbren.com. I used them on my previous truck (f150) and they helped alot to control sag and bouncing when towing our camper. Great idea and low cost solution.

Timbrens will get the job done, down side, they are not adjustable, "fixed load support". You must "load" the vehicles suspension to get the frame to sit down on these timbren poly/rubber bushings.
Up side, they are cheap and easy to install.

I have the firestone/ride rite air bags in my tow vehicle, love them. You can adjust for any load, customize your ride to your liking. Whether your towing the boat with very little tongue wieght, or a heavy travel trailer, or a load of bricks (4000lbs).

I have had the air bags on my F350 since '01, will always have them on my tow vehicles. 20 psi for towing boat, 40 psi for 5th wheel, 15 psi for jeep on trailer, 5-10 psi empty, and 80 psi with 4000lbs of brick.

A couple of posts back on this topic, I had asked if anybody was using the Equalizer WD Hitch of a FW swing away tongue equipped trailer. The reach on the tongue is too long to accommodate the spring arms (only 36" long) that come with the hitch. Can't see how it would work unless you could get longer spring arms.

I have had the Firestone bags installed on my truck for some time now and love them. They work great and I will be sticking with them rather than a WD hitch.

For FW trailers with the fold-away tongue as far as I can make out you need to mount/attach a crossbeam on your draw bar at the right distance and attach the load leveller brackets and chains to this. Only has to be about a foot long, either strong U-channel or I-beam and attached to the tongue with some axle U-bolts or similar.

I am looking at doing this over the coming winter myself.

I can not imagine that you would need a WD hitch to tow a boat that is light enough to sit on a trailer that has a swing away tongue.

Good to hear that addition of helper springs/bags, did the trick.

My 268 has a removable tongue, and I use the equalizer hitch just fine. The instructions include a set up for a single pole trailer, which I use just fine.

I think what you need is called a 'pole tongue adaptor'...just make sure if you use the WD hitch that your actuator can move so the surge brakes still work..

Did I mention that the swing away tongue picture is one of my "new" trailer that my "new" 278 Vista sits on? Look for a post under the "Vista" section coming soon.

Wow, you bought new!

Congrats! Don't mean to thread hi-jack, so I will wait for the new thread, or PM with details, I am very anxious to hear how you made out :)
