Post subject:  Height of 200 Trailer

I checked the specs on the Four Winns website and it says the Ball Towing Height is 24". My TB's height is 20".
So that means I need a 4" rise...right?

Is it normal for trailers to be that much higher than the back of the tow vehicle?

Thanks for the input

Kinda surprised by the height. I mesured the ball heigh on the trailer for my 180 at the dealer at 17-18". BTW, where on the FW site did you find this? I looked and didn't see it.

Also, figure in another 1-2" of rise to make up for your vehicle's sag. I have an F-150 and even I have to use a 4" rise to handle the 24" trailer height.

I found it in the Past Spec section for 2007 200 Single axle trailer.

Since I am getting the WD hitch, I really don't want to spend the extra money on a ball and receiver to never need it again, but won't have the time/tools to do it at the dealers.

Ah well...whats another 75$ when it comes to boating right?

Does any one know what the thickness of the trailer neck is? How many inches the bottom of the trailer to the top part of the trailer is?

I hope that makes sense? :?

Thanks

That may depend somewhat on the boat model. And are you talking about the tongue, or the main frame? I'd guess my tongue is 5".

I feel compelled to ask, why do you ask? :)

My dealer measured it at 4 1/2 inches, although I wasn't looking over his shoulder at the time. So for the WD install, you'll need to make up that 1/2" with a block of hardwood cut to the exact width of the trailer beam. Think shim.

*edit - I haven't called back to have him measure the width of the trailer beam (yet).
