I have just purchased a bimini top for my 1993 180 Freedom. It is from Carver with a Sunbrella top.
It would be really helpful if you have photos of your bimini top and how it is mounted to your hull. The model really doesn't matter.

Don't have a photo but I just installed on on my 88 Horizon 200 this spring. I wanted to also have an enclosure made in the future so the way I did it was to mount slider rails on the coaming pads (interior panels) which puts the bimini inside the windshield frame. If you want to make an enclosure (side, front windows and rear cover) you have to do it this way. The slider mounts are great and allow you to move it forward or aft and get it out of the way if you are fishing etc. Also they allow you to mount it to a strong surface and doing it this way you don't have to drill holes in the outside of the hull. One thing I'd advise is not mounting it to the windshield. A bimini can move around a lot at speed and you don't want those forces moving against the windshield which can shatter that expensive and sometimes impossible to find glass....

Here is a thread on some different mounts: http://www.smwebhead.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3262&p=35049&hilit=bimini#p35049, I switched mine out to the quick release mounts and find it to be much more secure, plus I don't have to deal with the bolts breaking.

LouC... Thanks for the info on the slider mounts. I have them, but I'm not exactly sure where I want to place them. I like your suggestion about avoiding a windshield attachment.

Well, I finally got my top mounted this summer. I am really happy with the outcome.
