I have a 2011 Tahoe with the basic tow package (6500lb) and I tow a 2007 H210. It does a great job and it is fairly effortless even going up some of our New England hills. I had a 2006 Expedition previous to this vehicle and the Tahoe tows better. The variable cylinder technology works really nice. I get about 14 MPGs towing and average around 20-21 with everyday use. Good luck!

I have a 2009 Chevy 1/2 ton crew cab with the 5.3 and 6 speed. I tow a 2011 H260 with the 8.1. The truck tows the boat just fine. I set the crusie at 70mph and away we go every saturday for the 120 mile round trip to the lake.

Moot post but, I tow my 2008 H210 with a 2008 Envoy Denali 5.3 4 speed. No problem lots of power.

Thanks for pointing out the the differences between engine families, obviously some people were not aware that GM has been busy since 1997.

Yes, some were clueless to what GM has been doing.

The LS family of motors are great. Simple pushrod V8 technology, easy to work on, make great power, reliable, and get fairly decent gas mileage.

Thanks guys,,,,,

I ended up with a 6.2 sierra crew cab. I had my mind set on the 5.3 but then this came along for basically the same price with low miles so I jumped on it.
