To be honest for $500 that's not that bad a deal. Say 2-250 for the trailer. Boom $700 in boat and hull. Build a pair of supercharged 8.1L 496 GM efi 2000+ truck motors (marine cams, h beam rods few other minor internals and closed fresh cooling) solid 650hp each efi supercharged motors. That are tunable with efi Live. Pare them to set of rebuilt used bravo drives. Can be had for 2-500 then a $250 rebuild. So your 3k per motor built=6 then 2k in drives. Now at 8k + the 700, so call it 9. Then put $1,500-2 in the interior is you contract that out. 500 DIY. Another few hundo to redo the interior. And $600 on a paint job. So lets add in few hundred for new gauges controls steering and call $500 in Moscow stuff. So your at 13k into a 24' restored boat with 1,300hp tuned rugr and gear the drives right and proper matched prop. You have a boat palpable of 90+. Ill be hard pressed if you find me a thick glass 24' with a cabin this size that will do 90+ for the same money. And all systems are new.
Yes would take some work. But it is capable of being a great boat.
