I am tired of my belt driven water pump/impeller breaking on me. I was wondering if anyone has swapped in an electric pump to replace the stock one, could this even be done? If so what was the outcome?

I would think as long as it flows the max GPH all the time then it would be able to cool the engine well..

Thanks

Well, it shouldn't break. What breaks?

the belt always either slips off or wears down irregularly because the mount is a little bent. im afraid of bending it back b/c it may break as well.

I'm not thinking an electric pump would work. They are more circulating pumps like they use on high performance cars. You would need a large one to accomplish what you need and I'm sure it would be expensive to buy and adapt. May be better the get e replacement mount.

If you can get the steel bracket off and hold it in a vise, you should be able to straighten it with a large adjustable wrench or similar. Highly unlikely that you would break it. Mild-Steel can bend back and fourth a number of times without breaking.
However, if you try to straighten it while on the engine, you might break the cast-iron boss that it is attached to.

Why is this even a post? Buy a new bracket. Fixed.
