14" is most likely your diameter. Your Pitch is probably 17 or 19 or 21 inch. It is good to post the following to get prop recommendations: .. Current Prop pitch, diameter and condition (Aluminum) .. RPM at WOT (Wide open throttle) with boat trimmed properly. .. Recommended maximum RPM for your engine (4400-4800?) .. Speed at WOT, using a GPS .. Load in boat at time of test, including fuel level .. What is important: Speed vs hole-shot vs fuel consumption (Hole Shot) .. Drive Type (1989 OMC) |

Thanks, that is very helpful. I haven't had the boat on the water myself yet, just been behind it when my friend owned it. I will gather some information this weekend and report back. |

A 14.5x19 was probably what it came with. My '88 H-200 with the 4.3 came with that prop but it wouldn't pull max rpm so I put on a 15x17. With that it performs better. |

You are correct. It has a 14.5 x 19. WOT with trim- 4500ish Not sure on recommended max RPM, Its a rebuilt 4.3, lower hours. Speed was 42 mph at WOT trimmed up a bit Load was 3 people, full tank, coolers wakeboards etc More worried about holeshot for wakeboarding/ more control at lower speeds. Normally between 19-24 mph for riding My friend has a 14.5 x 17 hes going to let me try. |

If you go to the 15x17 that will probably put you at 4900 and it will improve hole shot for sure. |

Maximum recommended RPM for most Carburated models is 4400-4800, and most Fuel Injected models are 4600-5000. So you are fine, but if hole shot is important, then that 17p will do better. Glad you have one to try out before buying. |
