Hi There, I just recently purchased a 1996 U17 with the 5.0 FI Volvo engine with a Volvo SX Cobra Outdrive. The 220 Hp really moves this boat quite nicely, mine is in showroom condition since the previous owners took so great care of it. Handles perfectly and as I say moves pretty good, last time out I saw the speedo hit 65 mph or so. I've read they are in the 60-63 mph range.

U17's & U19's Nationals
Thought i'd seperate the threads..

Okay, the Tournaments about 5-6 Weeks off, Titans have been selected (I think).. Knights have just started trials, team is selected next Sunday.

Vic Squad has been selected, Dont know whos in it.. I presume it will be a strong squad as it always is.

What are you thoughts on the teams/tournament?

What kind of work have you done?

Have you checked it with GPS to see what speed you're getting? I've gotten 63 out of my U-17 but the U-19 with the 351 is a bit faster.

Just a few things Trick flow R series intake,, 75mm throttle body, 30lb injectors. am running 93 Cobra F3ZE Heads, 1.94x1.54 valves,62cc Chambers, .040 over, a bunch of head work and a 513 lift cam. Did you know that the 5.8 is a 1993 cobra engine, and yours may be also. Look for 3 bars, or GT on your heads.
It will be spring before I find out what it will do, will start putting it together next week,,,,, cant wait!!!! The fastest I have had it,[prior to this work] is 69 on the ODO.
