If it is actually a 225 Sundowner, the dry weight is anywhere from 4,090 lbs. to 4,270 lbs.
If it's a 235 Vista, it will weigh 4,900 lbs to 5,080 lbs. The high end weight for both boats is if it has a big block in it.

So which is it ?
1992 225 Sundowner ?

or.........

1992 235 Vista ?

Your Jeep will pull the 225 Sundowner, but I would only pull the 235 Vista for short distances just to be safe. Very short.

The 3.7s in the later model Grands are only rated to 3500 lbs so no go on the smaller boat. You'd need a V-8 at a minimum. I have the 5.7 in a 2007 Grand and its rated at 7200 lbs. It pulls my '88 Horizon 200 very easily, but that 225 is a good deal heavier. Depending on the weight of the boat+trailer, it would also pull the bigger one, but you'd have to use air bags in the rear coils or a WD hitch because they sag even with only 300 lbs of tongue weight. So think about trading for a V-8 Jeep, as gas gets more expensive there will be some good deals for sure.
