Anyone have issues with the bow roller scuffing the gelcoat?

I know the boat is as tight as she gets winched to the post and there is no debris wedged in there. I've noticed that the non scuff roller has started to damage and scuff the gelcoat right where she sits against the roller when fully loaded on the trailer. (Pictures next time I have her off the trailer)

Any thoughts?

I've had some damage to the accent stripes/tape on the very point of the bow, just above the scuff plate, but not to the gel coat. I finally figured out that it was the position of the bow roller when retrieving the boat. I'll take some pics, as well as pics of the position of the roller when its wrong and the new "proper" position, when I get a chance.

Would love to see the pics of what you have going.

I've looked into the scuff plate, but according to the dealer, it's not available for the 180...

I've seen after market scuff plates that looked nice and cost far less than the FW plate. This is one of the few options I didn't go for, and sure enough, after one very long tow I've got a scuff mark.

Any idea where you've seen these aforementioned scuff plates or where I may get them?

Well, I think I'm glad to hear others have the same issue...

If anyone comes across an aftermarket scuff plate for the 180, please pass it along as I will happily get one for my baby.

I've got the same problem with my 180. I dropped into my dealer (Don Hyde Marine in Hagersville, ON) and they ordered one with no questions asked. I'm still waiting to have it put on, but I assume its a Four Winns part given the lack of hassle in finding it. I'll check and post the results...

??!? If you get it and it looks like the Fourwinns one, please pass on their contact info. I may just have to order it from them.

Just got the boat back from winterization. Turns out the scuff plate doesn't fit the 180, despite the fact that its a Four Winns part. My dealer even looked at having it machined to fit, but no luck. They have contacted Four Winns to come up with a solution, as I told them that there would be several owners interested in buying such a part.

I'll post results as soon as I know...

Great! I never got around to doing anything with this before winterization. Keep us posted if you can. I would love to get one in the spring.

I'm also intetersted in a bow scuff plate. Our bow stop roller looks gouged and I figure with time it'll make a rub mark. Also, anyone have experience with the keelguard, like shown in the photo with the aftermarket scuff plate?

On the Keelguard, lots of people who have installed them themselves, have advised that it's worth paying someone with experience to do it.
