Debating buying the Shurhold dual action polisher. Anyone here have one and what do you think of it?

This thread seems to speak highly of them. I've heard from others as well and I'm going to be getting one shortly.

I bought one and like it. I am not a pro detailer but have used a buffer or two in my life. Pros may be more likely to use a circular than a random orbit, but the shurhold is reasonably light weight and beats the heck out of elbow grease. They offer a wide range of bonnets, pads, brushes, etc.

I bought one because I only have one good arm and waxing a 25 ft boat by hand was a lot of work. I like my Shurhold a lot - I would say I can wax the boat with only 1/4 the effort.

Another owner/fan here. So much easier. I really like most (if not all) of their products.

I have the Dewalt polisher and have used it for the past 5 years. Do you find the Shurhold polisher easier to use than a polisher of that style?

Harbor Freight has one that's much cheaper and works just as well. It's not a dual action, but I haven't had any issues with it. Just have to be careful or you can burn your gelcoat. On the plus side, you can buff with it and not just apply wax.

Not sure if there are any Harbor Freight up in Canada though.

The Shurhold, because of the dual-action, is pretty foolproof. No need to worry about leaving swirls in the finish. Following the videos produced a very satisfying shine. I know the same/similar results can come from traditional buffers, but this was a natural purchase for me (the fool) and I'm happy with it. :)

I Think I'll pull the trigger on the shurhold polisher. I dread having to put polish on by hand and would like to use the "buff magic" like it was intended to be put on.
We are lucky that we are in a covered slip so we limit the amout of time the sun beats down on the boat so the fibreglass is in really great shape for never really having a proper compound done to it

I took a Shurhold back to West-Marine today after using it 5-mins. It will not take the place of a 9-inch hi-speed buffer and wool-pad when the chalk is heavyish. I read reviews stating that but tried it anyways. It just will not turn enough rpms to get a heavy compound to work. Should be fine for lighter jobs.

I like my Porter Cable. A lot of people use them for profession car detailing.
Seems to have a good range of application, just a little on the heavy side.
