I searched the archives and didn't find much on this. Is anyone using a 12v DustBuster kind of thing on their boat? Seems kind of convenient for picking up sand, crumbs, etc. looking for a good recommendation if anybody has one. It would be best if it has a cord around 15 feet.

I'm trying to avoid rechargeable batteries if possible. Thanks!

I keep a lint roller on the boat. Does a decent job at picking up crumbs if one of the kids makes a small mess.

I had a 120V Dirt Devil vacuum in my camper. They have a long cord and work well. Should be able to find them in a 12V option.

I know you said that you are trying to avoid rechargeable, but a Craftman 19.2v cordless vac (dustbuster type), coupled with a Heavy Duty Lithium-Ion Battery Pack has good suction and will run for a long time. The Li-on batteries also hold a charge for weeks when not in use.

(there are also smaller batteries available that cost less)

If you already have any craftsman 19.2V tools, then this is quite economical.

If you can go 120 volt instead of 12 the shark or the dirt devils are great. They have roller bristles to pull up the sand. I never found any battery operated vacuum was worth much. I can tell you what not to get is the battery dirt devil electric broom....

I use a 18 volt rechargeable dust buster. Works great and you aren't getting the cord tangled all the time. My only recommendation is that you find one that has a wet dry function, otherwise make sure the carpet is dry when using it. Where I store my boat there is no mains power, so battery operated was a must. In summery it works a treat and has a good run time.

We have used a Shark rechargeable vac for about three years now on the boat. It has a spinning bush attachment that works well for picking up crumbs and dog hair.

I purchased on ebay a shark bagless corded (model V1510 or V15Z). Has the beater brush, expandable hose for getting into corners, long electric cord. Works great and is very compact.
My only complaint is it is very loud.
Cost is about $25.00.
