Hi guys,

I tried running the Kohler 5kw gen this w/e and on Fri it concked out after 5min and Sun after 10mins. Any ideas what the problem is? The sea cock looks open. My gen and overboard discharge sea cocks are always in the open position and my boat is always on the water - is this advisible?

How much cooling water is being discharged? If very little (or none), then probably the impellor needs replacing.

Does the generator in the '06 have a digital display (right on the unit)? If so, it likely displayed a code when it shutdown. Knowing that will make troubleshooting a whole lot easier.
