Does anyone have experience fixing scratches on fiberglass. After a long winter I will be
"trying to buff out"-sand out any scratches. Looking for some good advice. Thnks

All depends on how deep & wide they are.

The scratch in question is just a minor flesh wound, around 1 inch long and barely through the gel coat.
I guess my question is that do I need fiberglass filler or can I get away with sanding 600 grit? then waxing
the heck out of it.

If it's deep enough to be all the way through the gel coat (it's only about 1/16" thick anyway), you'll probably need to fill it with color matched epoxy.
