Hey everyone...hope you can give me some ideas...

I have a 2008 SL262 that is kept in the water for the summer. I cover it with the bow and cockpit cover while I am away. My problem is that it seems these covers are not repelling water. They seem to get wet (heavy) and collapse the support poles beneath them, thus soaking my interior with gallons of water. Anyone run into this problem with a Four Winns cover?

I am considering a trailerable mooring cover, not sure how well that might help to repel the water.

I keep my horizon in the water all summer at my dock. I keep a generic boat cover over the
bow and cockpit covers. It keeps the rain and the sun out and the boat stays dry all
summer. I would highly reccommend doing this, although its a little extra work it's worth it. IMO

I had the same problem with Horizon bow/cockpit over setup when mine was in the driveway. I think it's a problem with the design. My personal thought is that it leaks under the bow cover.

The two covers are basically connected narrowly over the window area. The open space from there to the edge is where I think it gets in.

So yeah...I did the same thing and bought a cheapo piece cover and use that over the whole thing during summer. Works pretty good over the existing bow/cockpit covers. (you still need to use the support poles)

The 303 should still be used if you want the covers to retain their original repelling level, but that might not be enough in your case.

Also if your poles are collapsing, You may consider cutting some to the length you need from a piece of tubing or pipe. Those little thumbscrews don't tighten all that well.

The 303 Fabric guard you linked worked very well on my covers, although they weren't leaking before. Now water beads up so nice.

If the poles dont stay up and water then pools, no amount of fabric guard would prevent some water from seeping thru. It is a water repellant, but it won't make it completely water tight to hold sitting water. I dont know why your poles are falling though. You say they fall while just being in the slip (not trailering at 65 MPH)?
