I have a bad looking fabric on the interior cabin ceiling. Is there any good way of cleaning it? And I have some bad looking stains.

I thought I was the only one who wondered that.

Great sense of humor guys. But the question is still open. I noticed that after attempting to clean, it was like trying to clean a carpet. These are water stains fron the top bow hatch leaking into the cabin. Would a steam cleaner ruin the fabric?

I have a 1998 258 Vista with the poorly designed inward slanting portlights so there were stains under the portlights. There were also stains in other areas on the 'carpet' that covers the sides and ceiling of the boat. I tried an ammonia solution and carpet cleaner without success and then I tried a moderately strong bleach solution (I can't remember the exact ratio but something like 1 part of bleach to 10 parts water) and simply sprayed it on the 'carpet' under the portlights and voila! stains were gone. In most cases, I was able to rinse the area with water and use a shop vac to suck up the liquid but in other cases I could not so I simply sprayed the bleach solution and let it dry. There seemed to be no difference in the effectiveness. I would recommend caution - this may damage the fabric in your boat so as they say, try it in an inconspicuous spot first. But, hey, it worked for me.
