Hi... I'm new to boating but have mechanical experience. Are there sources for service manuals for our boats? I did a quick google search and got mainly "owners manual" hits. I'm trying to find something more technical similar to that for cars.... schematics of how things are put together. Partly for my own education and partly to be able to pull things apart and put them back together again! Thanks in advance!

Welcome.

I'd suggest you put your boat info in your signature, that way we can help point you in the right direction.

There is some very basic boat systems info in the Four Winns boat owners manual, older manuals are available on the Four Winns website. Click on customer service, past product information.

The most detailed info will only be available for the engne/outdrive. There are generic Seloc manuals available but both Mercruiser and Volvo Penta have factory service manuals available. Some can be found online.

The Service book means it's a collection of records, stored on a device or some technique. Service records is manually pre-installed on the device.
Also, we can says that Service book is a record of every event for using in the official life.;

The Seloc manuals are a good starting-point, but they do have errors in them. The factory-service manuals are your best resource, IMO.

I never knew that?? Good to know, I have just used them for general things. Like, raw water pump, riser & manifolds questions.

I use Seloc for general maintenance issues. Have received great guidance right in the forum!

IMO neither the Seloc nor the factory manuals are perfect. They both have strengths and weaknesses (so yes, I'm suggesting having both).
