Does anyone know of a good product to get stains off the white vinyl? We have never owned a boat prior to this with such a propensity for stains! We just got the boat (33 Four Winns) this year, and we have more stains than we have had on our boats EVER! We have stains from bugs that we cannot seem to remove (green), and stains from laying wet carpet on the seats (orangy). I have tried different things and the stains do not budge. Any suggestions?

How old is the vinyl?

Mr. Clean Magic eraser and a whole bunch of elbow grease.

The boat is a 2000. I have tried the magic eraser...and vinyl cleaner..no go.

Try a little clorox bleach spray or greased lightning. These have worked on my vinyl to remove the spider poop stains

I just had this same thing happen to me. I removed the cover and apparently a bug had done something :| on my sunpad. I used Westley's Bleche-wite on it. It didn't get rid of it right away, but after a day or so in the sun it faded to nothing. I've done this a couple of times and it's gotten rid of some nasty stains that nothing else would take out. Some took a few days to go away and some took a few hours.

Good Luck,
Dave

I had some of the orangish stains you were talking about and it was basically the vinyl starting to fail. I tried all the remedies listed above and only the sun would take them away but its gotten to the point where the vinyl just needs to be replaced.

Thanks for all of the tips! We will work on them. The orangy colored stain was from laying the wet carpet across the seat. Never thought the backing of the carpet would stain the seats!!

Found out over the weekend that hairspray works great on carpet stains though! Nothing like spilling a good amount of black fingernail polish on the brand new carpet!! Damn 80's party!!

Here is the result after about 30 minutes of good hard cleaning and a completely destroyed Magic Eraser.
