I've been working through water in the forward bilge on my Vista 258 all summer. It is now winterized in drystack and I know that at least one source of water has to be exterior, probably the anchor compartment. The drystack people are great, but I have to work outside, and in Seattle it will now rain for the next 5 months. I'd like to just tape over the anchor openings. I'm thinking duct tape, and then using a solvent in the spring to remove it. My concern is I don't want to damage the gel coat.

To remove the tape adhesive try either Eucalyptus Oil or Citrus Oil - these will break down the adhesive without harming the gelcoat - and smell great as a bonus!
