I use 3m cleaner and flagship wax.Been doing it for three seasons nowand no problems so far

Count me as another happy Mequiars Flagship fan! Love the results and it's easy on and off. It does not contain "carnuba", I called Mequiars and they explained it's has a polymer base. The warning against using carnuba base wax is somewhere in the Four Winns owners manual. I know I remember reading it when I purchased my Vista in 2000. After several years of waxing with Mequiars Flagship the gel-coat looks factory fresh

I'm guessing just about any wax would be fine if probably applies AND properly removed. If you layered many coats of wax you'd cause problems regardless of type. A carnuba-based wax is probably more likely to yellow if you did this. But if you're completely removing it each time it seems less likely. I've seen folks go out an "touch up" their wax constantly after each trip. I can see where build-up is going to be a problem for them...

I have been using Maguirs Flagship on my last boat for about 4 years and I will stick with it unless someone convinces me on my boat that their product works better.

I have used Flagship for 6 years. I just switched recently to 3M. Marine wax with Scotchgard. It goes on and comes off easier than anything I have used. A gelcoat repairman recommended it for ease of use, and longer lasting protection from UV rays than Meguiars or Colonite.

My local Walmart has it for 9.99. I couldn't believe it so I got a few, I think I paid 16.99 at West Marine last time I got it. How long is long lasting? My cover guy says this "Trewax Boat Wax" is the best, use it twice a year and your good.

See above comments on carnuba wax on boats. They are true. I would stay away from the Trewax.

I just waxed my boat finally with 3M Marine with Scotchguard, definately easy to apply and remove, good gloss and feels smooth.
