Mike, I installed the same BT device in my Vista on the same head unit exactly the same as you. It has been working flawlessly since the beginning of 2015, so I would say you are good to go. Only issue I have is with my dumb phone and the fact that it doesnt want to auto connect when we get on the boat......but that's me and my phone

Actually I don't think it's just you. The few less-than-stellar reviews I've seen are mostly about the fact that anytime the unit is powered off, you have to manually re-connect. Most users don't seem to care; a few actually prefer it that way; and there are a few for whom it's a deal breaker. I'm in the "don't care" category.

I appreciate knowing how it's worked for you!

Speaking for the Sure unit I posted earlier, it sound similar. It is very simple in that it only has two modes:
1. Ready for a BT connection
2. Connected to a BT device
Whenever first turned on it comes up Ready for a connection. Seems simple and good enough for a device that spends it's time in your living room or boat, but not the coffee house.

Your assumption is correct Mike, it will be fine as you hooked it up. You may want to wrap some electrical tape around
those RCA jacks, as tight as they seem to fit, they can vibrate loose after time. Experience.

What about liquid electrical tape/sealer. That would make it water tight too.

I want to be able to disconnect them in the future if needed without any extra work. If these connectors ever get wet I'll have a much bigger problem anyway. I avoid liquid tape (aka Plasti-Dip) whenever possible. But thanks for the idea!

Just ordered the JBL. Same price as the Fusion, does auto connect. Really was important as often as we shut down and turn the key to accy. Would have been a pain to re connect about 10 times per day.

Update: Installed this last week. Much to my dismay, it does not auto connect...

I've decided to install a bullet or spade connector so once at the lake, we can just have it plugged in for constant power. When finished for the day, unplug it.
