'97 H200 Sunsport. Upgrading the sound system and all ready to replace the stock 6.5" speakers with four Polk db650's I have sitting around. Trying to figure out where to put a sub. Seems like it might be easier to put an enclosed unit under the sundeck on the opposite side from my single battery. I'd rather have something/somplace simple so that I don't cut into too much boating time. Where do other H200 owners stuff a sub?

I'm planning to run the sub (probably a polk 8" or 10") off a single sony amp and use a new Sony CDX-H905 (from ebay) as the power for the the four existing speakers. I don't need to shake the earth, but I do like good clean sound that can be played at moderately loud levels. Thanks for any insight or advice.

My sub is under the rear bench seat pn the port side. Running a 10" Sony Marine sub in a Four Winns boz which is not the best sounding box, but it fits well and good enough for now. I do plan on a custom box this winter. I went this route for now for an easy install and no cutting at all. Box drops right in.

There have been a couple of these done in the past - how tos - with pics- here are a few that I remember. CougarCruiser did a nice one too but I can't find it. His was a 240 anyway so he had a lot more options open to him.
Most guys with boats like ours build a box for the subs under the rear bench - thats what the factory does for the upgrade also.

I just traded in the same boat and, just before deciding to go cruiser, I was getting ready to upgrade the stereo. Of all the options I saw on this board, I liked this one the best:

I know that it likely doesn't get the sound quality that you would get out of a box, but, for me, losing that storage under that back seat was not an option. Plus, in my opinion, this setup just looks "cleaner".

Either way, let us know which way you go and post some pics!

I did exactly the same thing Brent did in that last thread that was linked to. Granted, mine is a 220 but the concept is the same. I didn't want to give up any storage, and it still sounds great.

I think that area only has sufficient depth on 210's or above. I could be wrong.
