Can anyone recommend a 12 volt digital television for marine use. I have just started my search and have not seen many options out there other than some "non brand name" units. I am looking for a 19 to 24 inch set with integrated DVD. All suggestions/reviews etc. would be appreciated.

jensen marine is a good tv. No built in dvd though. 12 volt. Not super high quality, but good enough.

Why not use a nice 120vac unit and an inverter?

Since my 268v has a dual voltage frdge, do I already have an inverter? If not are inverters pricey and complicated to install? I guess going with an inverter would give me more flexibility.

Dual voltage means the fridge itself handles both types. There would have to be a separate inverter. I've gone that route for my TV. The number of choices for 12v-based TVs is so small as to make it pretty much pointless to go that route. That and most modern LCD TVs only draw 50-60 watts of power, a lot less than older ones. Powering one from it's own inverter is a simpler solution than having to wire up something for the whole boat. I've got a very small 75 watt inverter that I plan on putting right behind the TV. That way I can run only 12v line to the location.

I put in a 19" Skyworth LCD TV/DVD combo in my 2000 268 Vista. I wired it into an empty accessory wires under the dash and it works great. We can be out 2 days, watch 3 movies, listen to the radio and have the fridge running and still have battery left.

That 19" skyworth might be what I mount to my arch. Where did you end up buying yours?

I got my skyworth off of EBay. It died after we set it on the dock and had movie night, everything worked great movie was over and we put it back in the boat. The thing never turned on again. Now I purchased a 22" Insignia LED TV from Best Buy and bought the 4 year warranty. Much nicer TV, has an external voltage converter so I bought a connector at Radio Shack and hooked it up to my boats 12V. Lighter, better picture, nicer TV, it's the way I would go if I were you.
