Does anyone have any insight on removing the stock Emerson DV1500 dvd player from it's cubby in the cabinet on an '04 Vista 288? The player will not read discs (tried regions 1, 2, 3 and ALL) it just opens the tray back up after attempting to read. There must be a simpler method than struggling with right angle screw drivers in 3" inches of clearance... any help or lessong learnerd would be greatly appreciated.

As well, I would like to know if there are any suitable replacements. A similar type indash dvd player of the same size and spec - it looks like Emerson gave up on the DV1500.

I just replaced mine with this one. I can't tell if ur Emerson used the DIN mount though
