PS, west marine has sierra fuel filters on sale 20% off. Had to get a quick fix til my good one got here I'm having a major battle with water in my fuel might just end up draining it tonight. $7.88 after tax.

Where is all the water coming from? Is it sitting on trailer at marina or in rack? I assume rack isn't covered?

The ethanol free gas pump at the marina when I filled up 2 weekends ago. They never claimed it was water free!! Fuckers.

There's only 15 or so gallons in the tank left, I'm pumping it out when I get home from work. Ever pour your water seperator out and the fuel look/smell like water and let it sit for 15 minutes and it looks like a fancy drink at a bar with layered liqueur? Yeah. Now imagine doing that every 30 minutes, and over 5 times and it's still drawing water out. Out of the 10 gallons I purchased from them 2 weeks ago, I swear to god 2 gallons of it was water. It was nearly instantaneous the symptoms started after I pumped it in.

The marina? They claim no responsibility and just said "we're sorry".

Spent the morning at the Ann Frank house. Then an hour historic canal boat tour. Beer taisting in a few pubs. Walked around Amsterdam for a few hours. Beer . Few more beers. Had a great chicken fish for dinner: I will do an entire thread in the trip.

The name of the boat is kind of ironic for someone looking to curb buying junk you don't need  ...Those things are crazy fast though.

Yeah. Those are "pre built" race boats. The price is good though you can't make cheaper. Under $500 for an RC boat that can do 60mph. Insane, also insane to think about the run times on the battery packs can be upwards of 30+ minutes!

Oh. Yeah that last picture. Boat died as I was pulling in to park. Did some beachside diagnostics and the ignition had no spark. 12.x volts were going into the coil, but I did the redneck test of sticking a screwdriver in the coil wire and getting it close to ground, no spark. Took the coil wire off and inside the coil where the male end of the wire goes in, it was full of this like putty like weird black crap (and covering the wire terminal). Tried to scrape it off best I could to get metal/metal contact, but no juice coming out of the coil. Called BoatUS and exercised my unlimited tow plan when we were done for the day. My buddy gave me a coil when we got home I'll throw it on tomorrow and see if she fires up.

That black crap is dielectric grease.

There was nothing grease about it. It was dry, solid, and really freaking hard to scrape off.

Fixed my boat. The spring on the rotor wasn't touching the lead in the distributor cap. Odd. Bent the spring up on the rotor and the boat fired right up. Ordered new cap/rotor should be in the mail today when I get home!
