What's wrong is that I don't have that bench seat on my boat....

Dang it Evil...........took you all of 14 minutes..... .......

Mike, thanks for the compliment.........actually, it is factory.........but, not on a 2005 model......in 2007 they started making them that way........Before we bought our 2005 several months back we looked around for a 2007 and couldn't find one any where close to within driving distance........My wife really liked that rear jump seat so when we bought the 2005 I looked into what it would take to convert the rear storage hatch into a rear seat.......the parts were available so I ordered what was needed........it was all custom made to order so it's taken some time to make it all come together.......

My wife is looking forward to next summer at Lake Tahoe sitting on the back of the boat reading a book while everyone else is in the water floating and having fun......

Does your boat have ladders on both sides or just port? I can't see the starboard side.

I can think of some other kinds of chests that fit nicely on that seat

It has a ladder on the starboard side and the bow.........the compartment that you can see on the port side is a storage locker or could be an ice chest........this boat has several of those little compartments that we really have no use for...so far.......

Although, I could see using that port side compartment for a towables/ski rope hideaway..........

The more storage the better for sure...wish I had that spot for shoes...everyone barefoots it in my boat so shoes are everywhere...not a rule just a custom.

Oh, that's your boat? That's awesome! I'd love the details of getting the jump seat put in - I asked my dealer about that years ago and it didn't sound like a viable option at the time....

I like your "power port" on the port side also. I hang my charger cord over the side, but your's is a much cleaner option.

I agree on the port storage on the swim step - pretty worthless. Hopefully yours has drainage holes - mine didn't so I drilled the corners.

You spend summers at Tahoe? That's a bit of a haul for you, isn't it?

Yeah, that picture is of our 2005 Funship 214.......with the newly installed rear jump seat...I just finished the project this afternoon......I'd be glad to fill you in on the details of the jump seat..........but, I'll warn you........it ain't cheap! ....and it's a lot of measuring, drilling and sanding for proper fitment.......

We spent last summer vacation at Tahoe in our motorhome for the first time........which is the reason that we now own a boat......going to Tahoe without a boat was a big mistake!........We were there over the July 4th holiday....Had a fantastic time.........but, all from the shoreline..........We bought this boat in August......We started shopping while we were up there......scouring Craigslist, Ebay, Boat Trader and such.......looking for a nice sized family boat....

Below is a picture of that power port you mentioned.........behind it is a Guest dual 10 amp battery charger...used just for maintaining the batteries while stored in my back yard here at my house.......

I also changed out that ugly plastic fresh water vent.....put in a nice low profile polished stainless one........

Very nice job. The '05 214 was the first FW boat we considered buying.

Yes, nice work!

I like the stainless water vent - very sharp. I have a dual bank charger installed also, but haven't gone as far as installing a thru-hull connector.

I want that, can you tell me where to get it? Was it really easy to replace?

Chris,

Here is the one that I used and where I purchased it from........

http://www.iboats.com/Flush-Mount-Fuel-Vent-Straight-Attwood/dm/cart_id.799963313--session_id.911534016--view_id.237696

I had to cut the hole in the boat a bit larger.......I used a Rotozip tool for doing that........other than that it was not a big deal......just a hose clamp holding the 5/8" hose on.......
