For the past two years, I have been wanting to take a relatively short overnight trip on Lake Michigan. I'd love to go across the Lake, but the weather windows are so iffy, it's just too risky trying to plan something this far in advance. So my question is if there anyone out there interested participating in a trip? The more boats the better..... My thought was something like a Holland to South Haven or maybe Grand Haven to White Lake. Basically, a 30-40 mile trip along the coast to a nice harbor to spend the night. The one thing to keep in mind for us trailerable boats is that we need to be selective on what harbor to depart from as it can be a challenge to find a ramp that allows overnight parking of our trucks and trailers.
Any thoughts, ideas, interest? Let me know. Summers go fast in Michigan, so I would love to nail down a date.. Maybe the 1st weekend or two in June before the transient slips get all reserved up.
