You also weigh more than me. I think my 5.0 efi 302 specs out at 235hp but we are basically the same power you are just fatter. Ha ha Ric is fat.

3500lb with 220hp isn't impressive. If I wasn't house shopping I'd already have it tuned up to around 300hp with cam, intake, carb. They tested the boat in 2003 with 260hp and it would cruise at 30mph @ 3000rpms.

Hey Ric, I'm a fan of longer distance cruising as you know.

My 3950# H240 with 250HP cruises about 31mph at 3300rpm and gets about 2.9mpg long distance. Prop is an old Michigan 3 Blade SST 19p.

Per official tests I should be getting roughly 4mpg. I don't know.

What did I do tonight? Got a taste of my own medicine. Was hanging out with the chick I like, and she sent me home so she could hang out with another dude (acting like she's busy or some shit). 3rd degree burn ouch. It's alright though, she's younger and to be quite honest, I used to do that shit all the time when I was her age (early 20's). Ah, I miss those days.

return to town from a few days on the NC BEACH for a buddies wedding.. return to work for 2 days (monday & Tuesday) to a pile of large jobs that i have to bust tail on before i leave town for 7 days off of work for a Music and arts festival. The rest of today will consist of busting hump and an evening packed with a laundry list of tasks to prep the camper for the trip..

what is this intended for? and if it is 30amp service, please throw it away right now that wire is entirely too small of a gauge to safely carry the power flow of a 30amp service.. you will fry that wire and cause an electrical fire in the blink of an eye.

How far away is the source? Have you calculated the voltage drop? That would appear to be 16awg SO. The female end looks like a 15 amp and the male looks like a 20 or 30. Be careful how you use that. You also likely have a higher current at start up of your AC than 5 amps.

My AC runs on a 1000w inverter normally (that was supplied with it from the OEM). Startup amps is 7.5 and running is 5.7. It's on a 50ft 16g extension cord, which is rated to be insanely safe for under 9 amps. It's just a temp until I get the shorepower wiring setup on my boat. Which will never happen at the rate I'm spending money on the river. I need to chill out on the extended mile cruises and bar hopping.

I at least found a place where I can transport fuel to the boat about half mile away, my marina doesn't allow gas cans. Paying $5.20 a gallon for fuel is insanity. Boat runs just fine on 87 octane E10 that costs $3.35 a gallon.

well last night i tested the temp gauge its good. tested continuity in the lead line its good. so the temp sender in the block is shit the bullet.

let me tell you that the temp sender on these 5.0 is freaking hidden. i had to bust out the exploded engine diagram to ring the SOB.

so people know it is to the (facing the belts) left hand side of the distributor under the throttle shift switch bracket. Below that bracket you have a PCV hose, another hose, and the wire harness for the injectors all in the way covering up the temp sender.. you need a 7/16 deep wall on an extension to get the sender out. All in all after hunting, moving and removing the sender it took 30minutes to get it out which is not too bad.

Yesterday i also 5200 mounted the base plate for my thru hull transducer. i had had it wedged in the stringers for the past season. Now it is 1" above the lowest point in the bilge troth under the bitor at the farthest forward point before the bulkhead. AWKWARD as hell to get their and not spill 5200 everywhere, but i did it and did not spill a drop or get any on me so it will now be secure for good.

this evening i will secure the transducer in the cradle and install the new temp sender. along with the temp sender for the Alarm and the oil sender for the alarm.

I'm trying to figure out how to clean my steering wheel. Everything on my boat is nice and bright white or tan, and the wheel is half tan/black from mold in the hard plastic that isn't coming out. The steering wheel is like the center of attention and your attention is on how ugly it is.

I would like to clean it but bleach and scrubbing doesn't even touch it. Any ideas?

I have used "Restoration Technology - Marine Strip" on the badly stained vinyl seats on my previous boat, and it cleaned up mildew that seemed to be inside the vinyl. Very strong stuff. Treat with 303 Aerospace Protectant afterwards.

http://www.restorationtechnology.biz/marinestrip_home.html
(I had purchased from http://www.boatownerswarehouse.com )

It must be good since it looks like we can't get it in California as far as I can tell. The web sites I've found it at say "store pickup only".
