Well 2015 seems like a long time away but depending on the size group we get we may need to start putting plans in place soon especially if it's during prime boating season. If you would have any interest in such event please post here and share any ideas you might have. To me Charlevoix, or Traverse City seem like ideal locations but open to any suggestions. So who's interested??

Depending on the date and how far north it is, I'm sure those of us who can't trailer would love attend. Mid July works well for us.

I love Northern Michigan and it would be fun to have a group get together. Charlevoix & TC are great areas to boat. And it may be a good spot but not the only option.

I haven't seen many people mention the Les Cheneaux Islands with the towns of Cerdarville & Hessel. A little more "quaint" than Charlevoix and TC but the scenery and boating areas are second to none. Also, it is a very short trip to/from Mackinac Island from the area.

Well you know that I'm in...let's start planning it. Heck I want to spend the summer on my boat based out of Charlevoix. If only I can figure a way to get out of this business.

keep in mind that the Cherry Festival in Traverse City is July 4th thru 11th and the Venetian Festival in Charlevoix is July 18 thru 25th. Getting a slip during these events is almost impossible.

Great idea! Once we pin down a date, I will be there!! Is this going to be a NON-children affair?? I have 3, so that will be tricky  Charlevoix is on the list for next year and this will be a perfect time to go when we have other folks that know the area, there with us.

I would like to see it be a fun family event...we can always designate a time in the evening for adult only docktails. I figure the rendezvous itself will only be a couple days then people can just include it as part of a longer family summer vacation cruising beautiful Northern Michigan.

Great info Jeff! Maybe we could hit in between those 2 weeks to try and avoid the limited space those events create. Since you boat up there do you have an idea of when it might be easier to obtain slips, like maybe after venetian festival?

July is pretty crazy but can be done. Things do calm down some in August. Depends on what everyone wants to do. Stay in one place and make day trips? Or start in one place and travel together to another? I'm guessing it will be a weekend trip for most?

The best way would be to pick our dates and use the DNR online reservation system to reserve slips.

We will be back at Torch at the beginning of August. Have to nail it down exactly, but we look to be there around 8/1.
