Going to be repowering the boat in the offseason, so I figured while the engine is out this would be a good time to replace the water heater that hasn't worked since I bought the boat in 2012. I ordered the atwood ehm6-sm with heat exchanger, and my question is should this have come with a tube system for the heat exchanger, or should the heater be connected to to existing engine hoses?

You will have to probably get some fittings and hoses to plumb it to the engine. I'd guess that the heater just has an in and out port and it is up to you to figure out how to attach it to the engine. Consult with the engine manufacturer to determine the best way/place to tap into the engine cooling system.

Thanks, I guess I thought that because that it advertises as a heater with exchanger, that it would include the whole apparatus.

The supplier has no idea what boat or motor you have, so I would think it is fair to say you should expect to supply the plumbing yourself. Once you decide how you are going to plumb it it should not cost much at all. A few feet of hose, clamps and 2 fittings.
