Well it looks like the wife and I are going to check out the Miami Boat Show this year.

I have never been to this boat show, let alone any other boat shows for that matter, so I am not sure what to expect.

While I am there, and if the price is right, I would like to pick up a Lowrance HDS 7 Touch. I hear there are deals to be had but I am not getting my hopes up just yet. If it's any near list price I will wait till spring to purchase it.

Any must see or do things at the show?

Any one else planning to attend?

I've been. Must see/do? It's Miami! If you enjoy sushi Katsuya is the place to go. Lincoln Rd. outdoor mall is amazing too.

The show itself is split into 3 parts. Two outdoor and the main indoor. Free trams to trolley you everywhere. It's usually hot so bring shorts. One outdoor pleasure boat/yacht/whatever section, one sailboat, and indoor everything. I do gotta warn you it's Miami, so there's virtually no small lake boats. It's all big cruisers and offshore fishing boats.

Never been, but a few members from my club go every year. They say its a must see show! Its so big that if you went all 5 days that you could not see it all.

The Boston Show you could do in 4 or 5 hours. Newport show, in a whole day but more like a day and a half.

Sitting in our room at the Miami Hilton after a day at the Show. It was great as there are not many people around, very quiet in fact.

Got to see the new Merc 350 hp outboards and the Merc racing 400 hp outboards.

Went for a ride on a 30' crown line equipped with twin mercruiser 6 cyl 260 hp engines. Got to drive too!

We are going to head down early tomorrow and see who else wants to take us for a rip. There is a Nortec with triple 400's I have my eye on.

Cheers!

Hey alex8q4, when you return back to Ontario, Canada, how about bringing back some of Miami's warm temperatures with you? It's going down to minus 20 Celsius tonight in London, Ontario.

Mike.

While you are at it, don't miss Seven Marine's new 627HP outboard. World's largest, also with LED lit cowling.

The h440 is massive. Pictures do not do it justice. The front bunks could sleep a basketball player.

Day 2 of the show was great as well. We skipped the in water stuff and made our way to the Convension Centre.

Wow the show is massive. I knew it was big, but words just can't explain.

We stuck to sport, performance, and cruiser boats. To be perfectly honest our favourite boat, hands down, was the Fourwinns H440. Just awesome. As Ric mentioned, pictures do this boat no justice. We would more than happy to spend weekends on this boat as a family.

After the show we headed to Fort Lauderdale. Couldn't be happier to get out of Miami. When we woke up in the morning and looked out our window over the marina we were surprised to see a brand new 310' $200m yacht. It made the 100 footers look small and the 50 footers look like toys. Just nuts!

We spent the day in Fort Lauderdale looking at more boats and relaxing on a river cruise. It was a bit cool but the sun was shining and we were on the water.

Cheers.

Rolled up to Miami around noon Saturday, picked up my friend Kayla from Sunny Isles and we headed to the show. Did the rounds at the convention center and then took the shuttle to the outside yachts for a while. Called it quits around 5 I was getting hungry and Kayla had a pool party at SLS to attend. Dropped her off there and I went to my ex's place just down the road on Isle of Normandy and we went out all night for food and drinks. Woke up, we grabbed breakfast at some latin cafe and I hauled ass home to check out some investment property to buy. Now it's 345 and time to enjoy a beautiful 75 degree Sunday Funday.

The H440 is my dream boat, it's flawless. If you didn't notice they have cameras in the bow and every evening on the Four Winns facebook site they do a recap. I made sure to do some silly pictures with my friend.

If you're wondering, the H440 has a thick zip in cover for the bow for storage and rough water. The main berth is massive it's a full queen sized island bed with a 42" tv at the end. The bathroom is as big as the bathroom in my townhouse. The front V-berths like I said, could sleep two basketball players. I was talking to the FW rep and they said hands down the H440's interior blows away the V435, the boat it was designed from. Best boat at the show, nothing else came close.
