What GPS is on the mother ship, and will you be able to share way points and charts easily between the two Units?

I would also like a portable vhf radio, a usb outlet, and a ciggarette outlet please.

Also, why are you not considering a BRP product for the power plant? I really like the e-Tec motors.

I have a portable vhf, so we are covered there.

A cigarette lighter is a great idea! I forgot I have ones of those mega candlepower 12v lights!

USB jack will be a part of whatever I do with a stereo.

I still like the idea of a fixed VHF (c'mon - the antenna will look cool) or at least a portable dedicated to the tender. Otherwise someone on the mothership would have to be on the bridge to communicate with the crew on the dinghy. And, of course, the portable should have DSC (I love my Icom that has it) for more streamlined ship-to-ship calling.

Big question folks...

Anyone use a hydrofoil on their motor that they like? I know plenty who use the classic stingray, but do any work better than others for inflatables?

The standard that has been around for a while: http://www.westmarine.com/buy/stingray- ... 89_002_508

Versus something like this:

or

Any thoughts on whether one is better than the other?

i have used them on multiple boats.

and the truth is.. you do not know if it will benefit you or not until you try it. bolt it up go for a ride. if it kills the propus effect then keep.. if it handles like butt and creates more drag than you want. Then return it. it is one of those things that depends not he boat..

on our 12' zodiac RIB 45 yam tiller. the fin hurt the handling and we added a 3" SS full transom fixed tab and it was golden..

I have the stingray on a 15' Key West flats with a 60 Yamaha and the tIme to plane is about half of what it was without. In my case the boat performs much better than it did without.

my old 14' alum jon with 45 had a mini fin and it never rose the bow.. The boat stayed level and the entire thing just lifted out of the water and it would dance on just the back 2-3 feet of boat. but the 12 v hull row boat i had a 25 on performed like crap, pure crap with the mini fin. so once again it all depends on the boat and the setup..
