Looks well cared for.

I love the full cover. I had one on my last boat and it was awesome!

Looking at the photos, it is hard to believe it is a 2000.

I am accustomed to having separate bow and cockpit covers. Do you think the full cover will be a pain considering we have rack storage?

I like to keep my boat clean, and I spend a lot of time working to keep it clean. I would just drape that cover over the boat as a dust cover while rack stored. Once you get into a routine for rolling and in rolling the cover you will be surprised how fast it goes.

+1 on the routine for handling the cover. Depending on which end you prefer to start with, you can roll around a pole, fold in 1 to 2 foot sections, etc. Covers are one of the best ways to protect the top side and interior from weather. A few minutes with a good routine is well worth it. Great looking boat! Have fun with it.

If you're trailering the one piece cover will work fine and keep it cleaner. People who have their boats in a slip or on a mooring like I do prefer the 2 separate covers, they are easier to deal with by far with the boat in the water. The boat looks great, best of luck with it....

I am going to have to get used to the one piece mooring cover but it was nice for the trip.

We made it home safe Saturday with our new boat and about 900 miles roundtrip to and from Western Maryland. Our 3- and 7-year-old sons were good on the trip as well. The seller was nice and he even took us out to dinner Friday night when we arrived in town.

He had new trailer tires installed, trailer bearings greased and even purchased spare wheel before we arrived. The sea trial was Saturday morning. About a week before, the forecast called for high-60’s but of course it was only 40 degrees on the lake the day of. Even with the cold, the sea trial was great and it really flew. The boat ran excellent and was in really good condition overall as described. Service techs gave it a thumbs up.

The only thing that is a bummer is the outdrive looks worse in person than it did in pictures. The anodes were good but the outdrive is pitted and missing some paint…I have noticed this more on Mercs than on Volvos. The boat did stay in the water a lot before but will never be in the water even over night when we use it. I am going to get some quotes on having it sanded and repainted (I am kind of OCD). The prop was in great shape though.

We spent a few hours doing a really deep inside the boat yesterday including taking out the snap in carpet and cleaning the floors. We are going to rent a steam cleaner to make the carpet look like new. I also added a spare wheel carrier from Harbor Freight.

The hull is just a bit hazy so I have a guy coming to my house tomorrow to give her a good rub/wax. Might have the engine compartment detailed too.

Cleaned the rest of the interior. Pulled out the snap in carpet. We are going to rent a steam cleaner for the carpets. I will post some interior shots after installing them back in the boat.

Here it is after today's rub/wax and engine compartment detail. Wish there was more sun so you could really see it shine. You could eat in the engine compartment now....

The guy was a wizard. I doubt I could do half as good in twice the time.

Wow.

You can't just make any boat look like that. This boat is really really clean, and shows it must have always been well cared for.

Looks like you made a good purchase... Congrats on the new boat, now let's pray for summer!

Looks really great, will be awesome to have it all cleaned up in your own style. Plus that's half the fun is getting something new ready for the summer! Also does it have captains call or is it always open exhaust?

Congrats! Looks great, maybe we will bump into each other this summer on the water!

Thank you, I am glad we went out of the way to get it. The guy who sold it to us was the original owner and he ordered the boat with the options he wanted including the rare in this boat 454 Mag. He actually started to get emotional as we were beginning to pull away. He took some photos of my family waving as we were pulling away with it.

Thank you Rob! It does have captain's call exhaust and I cannot wait to really try it out. Captain's call is banned in MD so we only tested it quickly to see if it worked. I hope you get your 280SS ;)
