I've never heard of Cape Coral, no idea what you're talking about 8)

This winter has been colder than last. February was the coldest February recorded in Toronto. In 2012, the kids were already swimming in mid May. I don't think this will happen this year.

I agree Ric might live in an Orlando heat bubble but we haven't been below 32 degrees for 3 years in SW Florida. Turned the heat on one morning this year when it hit 44 and windy.

Ahh yes... 32 f is the freezing point not 30.

It was 1 deg C so 33.8 f. ( I googled the conversion this time)

Regardless, it was f'en cold.

We were in SW Florida from the Feb 3rd to the 20th, and us thick skinned Canucks had the heat on a few nights.

Things are starting to look up here. The Huntington Harbormaster came through yesterday and replaced the navigational buoys which is a sure sign of spring....

Stopped by the slip on Saturday. It is thawed out and the rest is melting fast. :D
Temps are forcasted to rise steadily for the next 10 days so hopefully the ice is gone in a week or two.

Today I got a little work done. Got the mooring covers re-sewn where they were starting to come apart and took off the winter cover and the frame I have to build to keep it from caving it. Put the outdrive back on and it did not fight me this time. Was going to start it up but its going to dip close to freezing Wed nite so decided to wait on that.

We hope the temperature meets the minimum requirement to allow us to apply a coat of VC-17 bottom paint to our boat this weekend. We boat on Lake St. Clair and I have not been down to the marina lately, but this past Easter weekend I did take a drive with my Father up to his cottage in Pike Bay (Canadian side of Lake Huron) and I looked out over the lake in Port Elgin, Southampton and Sauble Beach and it was pretty much ice out as far as you could see. Went for a drive over to the Georgian Bay side at Lions Head and again pretty much ice out as far as you could see. Gotta be at least a week or two before all that ice gets out of there providing decent sun and temperatures come.

Mike.
